Hero quick movie review: Sooraj Pancholi andAthiya Shetty make a starry debut in Nikhil Advani’s film!

The two are being launched by Salman Khan and their film releases in the theatres tomorrow. Here’s BollywoodLife’s quick review of Hero!

Sooraj Pancholi and Athiya Shettyare making their grand Bollywood debut with Hero, directed by Nikhil Advani. The actors are being launched and mentored by none other than Salman Khan! The two newbies’ film releases tomorrow and BollywoodLife’s editor Tushar Joshi is in the theatre, watching the film right now. The first half of Hero is over and here’s what he has to say about it:

“The camera plays withSooraj Pancholi’swell chiseled torso. The frame captures everything from his film ready biceps, that hawk eyed gaze and the flicking of the hair when it’s time to romance. From thevery first frame, Nikhil Advani means business. He doesn’t really waste a lot of time playing around and cuts to the chase. Sooraj Pancholi’s introduction scene in Hero is easily one of the most well structured and framed scenes in recent times. The same can be said about Athiya whose unconventional looks are herUSP. There is terrific chemistry between these two. The story begins in Mumbai, where Athiya is kidnapped by Sooraj at the behest of goon Pasha played by his off screen father Aditya Pancholi (brilliant casting). The romance is interspersed by action scenes that are well choreographed.

Hero’s first half is fast, and the story doesn’t linger around the usual parameters of drama and turmoil. The focus is on Athiya and Sooraj’s chemistry. And Advani doesn’t leave any stone unturned to make maximum use of their interpersonal dynamics. Cinematography is noteworthy, especially the scenes shot up north. The background score with the title track is extremely hummable and uplifts even the mellow scenes. There’s no denying the fact that Hero has given birth to two stars – Sooraj and Athiya. Whether they reach heights of superstardom or fizzle into oblivion only time will tell. For now the first half of Hero has enough ammo for us to stay positive about what’s to follow. TV stars like Chetan Hansraj, Anita Hassanandani and Sharad Kelkar provide adequate support. The big scene and twist before intermission showcases that Sooraj can do more than look good and flex that torso. There is immense potential in this guy and perhaps Bollywood has got its next BIG star!”Will the second half be promising like the first one? Stay tuned for the full review!
