Salman Khan’s Prem Ratan DhanPayo aims to beat Opening Day record of Shahrukh Khan’s Happy New Year

The BIG day is just four days away.
Prem Ratan Dhan Payo, which was creating buzz ever since it was announced, has managed to build a constant hype overlast few months.

Now that the film is all set to hit the screens on Thursday, the craze around theSalman Khan-Sooraj Barjatya-Sonam Kapooraffair has reached its peak.

No one is denying the fact that it would open huge. No one doubts if it would cross the 200 crore mark. No onehas any apprehension whatsoever if it would be a goodentertainer.

All said and done, it is the case of ‘all is well’ for the flick so far.

No wonder, for Fox Star, this is a big ticket affair that isexpected to end the year on a whopping note for them. With a record release planned for the film (between 4500-5000 screens), it would be practically the only commercial Hindi film playing on its 12th November release and that would be the case for full 15 days till Tamasha hits the screens on 27th November.
While one waits to see the records that are broken and created in these 15 days, all eyes are now on how the film would open on Thursday.
This is a day after Diwali and though it is not a national holiday per se, it is still a big enough day for movies since majority of ‘junta’ is expected to enjoy a long weekend after the festivities.
While the regular Friday would be huge as well, a Thursday release means the Rajshri flick can well expect family audiences to step in hordes. So far, the record for the opening day is held by Shahrukh Khan’s Happy New Year which had brought in 44.97 crore on its Diwali arrival.
Now one waits to see if Salman Khan goes one up over this number on its release. Our take on this? He will surpass this record and register an even higher number.

What do you think?
